The First of May – December Newsletter

Making Movies That Matter

When we set out to make THE FIRST OF MAY, we wanted to make a film that might make a difference in the world.  It was a long, hard road, with tough lessons learned at every turn, but our movie is finally getting the exposure it needs be able to reach people and maybe make a little change in the world.  The goal has begun to be reached.

BACK ON HBO FAMILY!

THE FIRST OF MAY continues to play on the HBO Networks this month, being featured on the HBO Family Channel.  The dates and times are listed below – pretty late times, so better use your recorder if you want a copy.

HOME VIDEO DEAL IMMINENT?

I am in Los Angeles, and will meet with our domestic distributor in the next 10 days to find out what is happening with our home video deal.  He said last week there are several opportunities on the table – hopefully one will come soon, as we need to take advantage of the awareness out there which has been created by the film festivals and HBO screenings.

ON THE BIG SCREEN IN SAN JOSE AND SANTA BARBARA, CA!

Speaking of festivals, the KidsFirst! Film Festival wraps up this month.  We are screening this week in San Jose, CA, on four different days.  For their schedule, go to the following link:

Know anyone in San Jose?  Please get ‘em to attend one!

The final KidsFirst! Fest appearance will be December 26 through 28th in Santa Barbara, CA.  Don’t know the dates or times yet, but that will be set soon.  More info on that can be found by going to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival site:

MAKING MORE MOVIES THAT MATTER…

God bless you all for your faith and support for THE FIRST OF MAY.   It continues to touch people and change lives.  At one festival, a couple came up and told me they had been considering adopting a child and after seeing our film, decided to go ahead and do it!  There is no price you can put on that.  Who knows how many other stories like that are out there, especially with audiences on cable and foreign television seeing the film as I write!  This is why so many great people came together to create THE FIRST OF MAY, and I am forever grateful to all of them.

I will be creating more films, God willing, under the banner of FOREVERMORE FILMS next year.  Our motto is ‘making movies that matter,’  and we intend to do just that – serving both the family film market and making meaningful movies for grown-ups, too.  Too few of those are made these days.

Our website at forevermorefilms.com will be up and running soon, with info on the exciting feature film projects we hope to get off the ground by summer of next year. You can become a part of our vision in many ways – so check out the website once it’s up. I’ll send out a reminder email when we’re online.

And finally, a special thanks to Chris Haviland, our co-producer, for working hard at maintaining our website over the years and having the know-how and the passion to help keep our film’s fans current on news.

God bless you all,
